Want to look Stylish at all times??

Here are a few, easy to follow tips that most Chic women have cultivated, to look polished at all times:

Dress for the occasion: Make an effort to find out what’s the dress code for any occasion, whether it’s ethnic or western, modern or conservative. This will help you in dressing appropriately and looking dignified.

Wear clothing as per your bodyshape to camouflage body variations.

Plan your Outfit the Night Before: Besides making you look your best, it also saves you from the stress next morning.

Keep some additional time in the morning for getting ready: Fix your alarm 15-30 minutes prior. This will give you sufficient time to apply your make-up, fix your hair, wear matched accessories and shoes. Also, for any other unforseen situations…

Plan the Right Undergarments based on your outfit: The foundation to looking great is well supported bras, panties and shapewear. For example, wearing nude bra rather than a white one under a white shirt will always look more appropriate.

Follow Other Stylish Women, fashion magazines & websites for Inspiration: This awareness only helps in understanding fashion and style more closely.

Cheers to many more Stylish Looks!

7 Best Dressed Celebrities at Oscars 2017

This year’s Oscars was nothing less that a power packed movie. There were emotions, drama, suspense and goof-ups. Everything seemed absolutely perfect until the final moments of the 89th Academy awards. The Oscars was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.

Surprisingly  this year’s Academy awards will go down in history for all the wrong reasons, so much so that it seemed like a M. Night Shyamalan’s movie with all the twists and turns!

The Oscars also saw some brilliantly dressed celebrities. Here is our fav 7.

Emma Stone – In Givenchy Haute Couture and Tiffany & Co. jewellery. She won the best actress award for the movie ‘La La Land’.

Viola Davis – Looked splendid in custom Armani with a Bally bag. She won the best actress in a supporting role for the movie ‘Fences’.

Nicole Kidman – Looked all gold and shimmer in Armani Prive. She was nominated for the category of actress in supporting role for the movie ‘Lion’.

Priyanka Chopra – Our Indian beauty looked gorgeous in Ralph & Russo and Lorraine Schwartz jewellery.

Leslie Mann – In Zac Posen and Lorraine Schwartz jewellery.

Taraji P. Henson – In custom Alberta Ferretti

Sunny Pawar – Not forgetting our little lad from India, who stole hearts by his outstanding performance in the movie ‘Lion’ and at the Oscars with his charming smile.

Wouldn’t you like your ethnicwear to make you look hot?

Beauty cannot be confirmed to standards….unconventional can be breathtaking! Indian attire like sarees, suits, lehenga’s are a boon for plus size women. These silhouettes are not only flattering but also can be used to maximum advantage to either hide or emphasise a body part.

While investing in ethnic wear, do keep the following tips in mind:

  • Fabric: Opt for flowy and soft material like georegtte, chiffon, crepe, satin etc. Stay away from stiff & firm fabrics like cotton, organza, organdi, silk etc. as it adds bulk to your body.
  • Design:Look for prints that compliment your body structure. Avoid wide borders in sharp color contrasts. Make sure the border color closely blends with the body of the saree.
  • Blouse: V-neck, sweetheart and deep U necklines create an illusion of slimmer shoulders and an elongated neck. If you have a pear shaped body, you can opt for boat neck and slightly puffed sleeves for a more proportionate appearance.
  • Pleats and Drapes: While draping the saree, avoid too many pleats on your waist as it will add bulk to your stomach. On the upper body, place the pallu on the shoulder without the pleats, as it will give you a slimmer look.

  •  Blouse: The blouse length should be kept longer with princess cuts or darts. 3/4 sleeves or full sleeves are the most flattering when combined with broader/bigger necklines.
  • Lehenga skirt: Bell shape, mermaids or trumpet silhouettes are the most suitable for wide rectangle body shape. Flared A-line skirts draw attention to the waist and camouflage heavier bottoms. Hence it works best for pear body shape.
  • Dupptta: Drape the dupptta in a way so that it helps in camouflaging your pitfalls. Wear it on one side to create an asymmetric illusion.

  • Sillhouttes: A-line, angrakha, asymmetrical, princess cuts are the most flattering styles for plus size women. One should avoid wearing heavy anarkali suits as it adds unwanted bulk.
  • Necklines: V-neck, scoop neck,  U necklines are the best options.
  • Fabrics: Fabric and fit is the key here. Choose flowy fabrics like crepe or chiffon and make sure the fit is nor too loose, nor too tight.
  • Length: Tall women look great with long kurtis but shorter women should opt for short or knee length kurtis.huma-qureshi_081713053352

5 Pant Trends You Need To Know Right Now

It’s Summer and none of us feel like wearing any pants, I get it. But familiarise yourself with the top pant trends of the season and trust me, you will hit Voonik site to stock all the latest styles that I’m going to tell you about.

Firstly, two words: HIGH WAIST! Be it denim high-waisted styles or not, this trend has taken 2016 by storm. Thanks to starlets like Taylor Swift, Cara Delevingne, Kristen Stewart, Kendall Jenner and the likes, this trend has only soared.

The next big trend in pants are the printed styles. The prints on your pants can be that of floral, checkered, plaid or houndstooth.

Coming to the third big trend, THE FANCY PLEATS. I say fancy because, pleated pants to me look just that: fancy.

Okay, I’ll list another. Skinny pants. Yes, the good old skinny pants. They cannot be called 2016 trends in pants, as they never were out of trend. This never gets old, as c’mon, let’s face it: We all love to show off those toned legs we work so hard on. The best way to flaunt those long, seemingly endless and toned legs is by wearing a pair of well-fitting skinny pants. BLISS.

As I sit here and think how I could have missed out Palazzos, (the ultimate gift to women who love to blend comfort with style) by an unnamed hero of a designer who came up with these, it hits me that these aren’t very different from their pleated pants cousin.

So, this was about the pant trends of the season! I don’t even understand how you’re so calmly sitting here, staring at your screen, reading a fashion and style blog written by a marketing girl, when you should be rushing to Voonik, so you can shop for all the latest trends of the season and be the best dressed girl at your school/college/workplace/party/umm..home?
Ciao. Until next time.

Amy arrived at Cannes in an all-white look! We loved the contemporary resort styling completed with her reflective sunnies and wide-rimmed hat! But our favourite part of the outfit has to be the nude Christian Louboutin shoes!Untitled design (74)

For her first night at Cannes, the actress chose to don a strapless Falguni & Shane Peacock creation that came with a thigh-high slit. The sheer blue of the gown looked stunning in comparison to the blue waters of the French Riviera.Untitled design (71)

Next Amy was spotted in attendance at a luncheon hosted by the British Film Institute, she chose to wear a printed pantsuit with a plunging neckline by Plakinger. Nude heels and pulled back hair complemented her attire.Untitled design (73)

Lastly, she attended the De Grisogono Party wearing a high-low, bell-shaped Ashi Studio dress with a neckline that plunges down till her waist! Untitled design (72)

Mallika wore an Emilio Pucci gown for the photocall of her upcoming film – Time Raiders and looked elegant in the blue-black outfit with the much in-trend “X-Neckline”.Untitled design (71)

For her red-carpet appearance, Mallika went for silver! She wore a Georges Hobeika ballgown, accessorized with De Grisogono jewellery.Untitled design (72)

Spotted at the screening of Woody Allen’s much talked about movie – Cafe Society, Mallika again chose to wear a strapless Georges Hobeika gown and a diamond neckpiece from Mellerio. Untitled design (73)

Lastly, she attended the UNICEF annual dinner in a Alexis Mabille ombre gown. Breaking out of her bold reputation, Mallika has been playing safe this year at Cannes with her outfit choices. Change of heart eh, Mallika?

For her first press interaction with the Cannes’ press, the actress was seen in an edgy Anamika Khanna creation that she paired with bright pink lips. Untitled design (73)

Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan marked her 15th year at the Cannes Film Festival with a touch of elegance and grace in a golden Ali Younes Couture gown. She had lined her upper lid with a bold turquoise blue liner, adding a dash of glamour!Untitled design (73)

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan upped the ante with a gorgeous red gown from Naeem Khan‘s Resort 2016 collection on Day 2 of the festival. This is what we call Red Hot!Untitled design (71)

At her third appearance, Aishwarya looked stunning in an embellished pink-gold Elie Saab gown, turning heads on the red carpet while attending the premiere of Steven Spielberg’s The BFG. Untitled design (74)

The gorgeous Aishwarya proved her mettle with her latest, extremely controversial look at the Cannes. She wore a pretty Rami Kadi floral gown, but what stole show was the diva’s daring purple lips at The Land Of The Moon premiere.Untitled design (72)
