So guys, it’s that time of the year when the weather turns cold and with that comes, the excitement of year ending parties, getting together with family, friends and welcoming the new year. Also comes along the fact that we want to party in style and look our hottest best! Here is our guide to bring in the sparkle!
Although it might not be December yet, it’s never too early to start preparing. Feeling good and looking fabulous should be the goal.
The winter weather makes the hair dry and sometimes flat or frizzy. So, start a winter hair care routine with some hot oil massages & steam, that will ensure your locks look their best during the party season. Alongside, take care of your skin too by pampering it with some cold cream for a smoother look.
Make sure you have at least one pair or two, of versatile heels that you can wear to multiple parties. Ideally you should have a gold and a silver to start with. These should be basic & classy, not too fancy. Something that can be teamed with ethnic or western wear. Also, make sure that these are really comfortable even if it’s a little expensive, as you would spend long hours partying in them.
Likewise, invest in a couple of clutches in gold and silver that will complete & complement your look. These should be bought keeping in mind, ethnic & western dressing.
Indian wear in the right fabric can make your look but in the wrong ones can even break your look. If you have a slim build and want to accentuate your body type, then go for fabrics like South Silk, Chanderi Silk, Velvet & the likes.
If you are on the curvy side, flowy fabrics like crepes should be your thing. Sarees always work for any occasion, so do stock up a couple of them. It’s easy to pull these over for any ethnic occasion. To have an array of looks this season, opt for a couple of lehengas, suits or even saree gowns. You can also ditch the regulars and go the fusion way if you are wanting to show your creative side. Try combining a western wear turtle neck top with a pair of classy cigar pants and a gorgeous dupatta.
Last but not the least, pay special attention to your make up and hair. Unless you are attending a cool, high-fashion party, chances are that too much make-up will look loud and gaudy enough to attract stares from strangers. Make-up should be to accentuate your features, never to smudge them too much.
